We have reach the end of the posts related to the course of recycling old furniture. In this post I'll show you the work that my classmates made individually and what we did as a group. And at the end of the post, I'll tell you what I think about the course in general, so as it will be a fairly long post I won't expand on longer.
I start with stool that our classmate H recycled. It was all he did during this month because the past three days he didn't attend the course without giving reasons.
The stool is recycled in the same way as other classmates and me have done the other ones, so little to explain if you've already seen the previous posts (at the end of this same post you can find the links).

Ya llegamos al final de las entradas relacionadas con el curso de reciclaje de muebles viejos. En esta entrada os voy a mostrar el trabajo que mis compañeros hicieron de forma individual y lo que hicimos de forma grupal. Recycling of this stool was made exactly like mine and H's, except for the letters in red, that stamps of letters and numbers were used.

With some wooden slats we picked up from the street, we made the frame. On one side of the countertop we put a cracked tile.

El reciclaje de este taburete se hizo exactamente igual al mío y el de H, salvo que para las letras en rojo, que se usaron sellos de letras y números.
Ahora os enseñaré los trabajos grupales. A continuación, veréis una encimera que hicimos con un tablero de DM a la que le pegamos unos trozos de madera que estaban en el taller y con unos listones de madera que recogimos de la calle, hicimos el marco. En un lado de la encimera le pusimos una baldosa que está resquebrajada.
Ahora os enseñaré los trabajos grupales. A continuación, veréis una encimera que hicimos con un tablero de DM a la que le pegamos unos trozos de madera que estaban en el taller y con unos listones de madera que recogimos de la calle, hicimos el marco. En un lado de la encimera le pusimos una baldosa que está resquebrajada.
One our our classmates had to cut small pieces of wood to make them fit and two of the long slats were slightly painted in white. Later walnut stain was applied to some pieces of wood and the frame and lastly, wax to protect the wood.

Uno de nuestros compañeros tuvo que cortar a medida los trocitos más pequeños de madera para que encajasen y dos de los listones largos se pintaron ligeramente de blanco. Después se le aplicó nogalina a algunos trozos de madera y al marco y por último, cera para proteger la madera.
Mi contribución en esta encimera fue la de la distribución de los trozos de madera, que hice junto a M. Ambas pegamos con cola blanca los listones largos y algunos trozos de madera.

Mi contribución en éste mueble fue el de terminar el efecto de degradado y aplicarle pintura para darle un efecto envejecido en puntos clave. El efecto envejecido también lo hicieron M y J en algunas partes del mueble.

Nuestra profesora dijo que tiene un aspecto muy hawaiano, jajaja. Y no contribuí en el reciclaje de esta silla.
Lo siguiente que vais a ver es una caja de madera que se pintó de color gris y encima se pintó de blanco para luego lijar y hacer un efecto envejecido en el que el color gris se pudiese ver, pero no quedó tal y como la profesora pensó que quedaría. Aún así, quedó interesante.

Lo que hice en esta caja fue darle la capa de color gris.
Y llegamos al último trabajo. Se trata de una caja como la que os enseñé en mi anterior entrada. Ésta se pintó de rojo por J y encima se H la pintó de azul y con la técnica del decapado M le hizo el envejecido. Después M hizo la primera capa del decoupage y eligió el tema con el que quería decorar la caja.
Y llegamos al último trabajo. Se trata de una caja como la que os enseñé en mi anterior entrada. Ésta se pintó de rojo por J y encima se H la pintó de azul y con la técnica del decapado M le hizo el envejecido. Después M hizo la primera capa del decoupage y eligió el tema con el que quería decorar la caja.
Color stains are cats. As they looked camouflaged with the background, J had the idea of adding a shady around.
My contribution in this box was to cut and paste some cats and the man to an artichoke grows on his head. As I had the feeling that the orange cats were even more hidden with orange shading, I decided to apply a light shaded over in yellow.
The box is not finished, our teacher is going to write some sentences and will outline slightly the cats to give them more protagonism.
And here ends the work we have done in the course, so now I will tell you my opinion about the course.
I must say that I've had fun, I had a good teacher and good classmates, so the atmosphere was good overall. I've learned to do things that had not touched, as the subject of transfer or sanding with a power sander, so in this aspect has been positive and do not rule out the idea of recycling furniture of my apartment in the future if the situation requires.
Bad points, but I can't say much. Partly you can feel like you've done work unpaid because furniture will be donated to some center where they need. Nor is it something that makes me feel bad because there will be people who can give them a good use and both school chair and stool I've recycled, I'll take them home.
What I liked least was a subject that although I tried to give my opinion to our teacher, she gave it nothing of importance.
As you know, one of my hobbies is illustration and I'm completely against art theft and using images and resources if I don't have the approval of the original author. And whenever I upload any image in this blog, I always give credit to the original author linking to their website, unless I don't know who is by some reason. Our teacher uses images from Pinterest, books, calendars and other printed images in all the images that we used to make transfers and decoupage, somehow violating copyright. I remember that one image printed from Pinterest had a watermark and she complained because that disfigured the image and the only way to make it more attractive was to put another image to cover up the watermark.
As these works are not for sale, even if I disagree, I accepted because I had no other option but the problem is that in September it will start the course with a new group and are talking about the issue of selling the recycled furniture. That is, if the teacher continues taking pictures from books or Pinterest, a social network in which users upload mostly images which are from other web pages (I don't have an account there and neither think to have one, but I have seen many illustrations that are from pages like deviantART or pixiv), they use them for transfers and decoupage and then sell those furniture, they will be violating copyright. Just as simple as that. I know there are pages where you can use images for this kind of works in which the authors give permission to use them, so I think she should focus on such pages for these works.
Will I attend to the course inSeptember Octubre? No. Although I liked and I've had fun, if the way it goes is to sell the furniture using images that may have copyright, I'm not interested to attend. Also I have other plans for September, of which I will write about, that would prevent me from attending the course and you are going to be surprised when I will tell you (my close friends already know what that is) because I don't want to anticipate events. I'll just say that this is something of my personal life and therefore has nothing to do with my hobbies, such as dolls, photography or illustration.

Las manchas de colores son gatos. Como parecían camuflados con el fondo, a J se le ocurrió la idea de ponerles un sombreado alrededor.
Mi contribución en esta caja fue la de recortar y pegar algunos gatos y el hombre al que le crece una alcachofa de la cabeza. Como veía que los gatos naranjas quedaban aún más escondidos con el sombreado naranja, decidí aplicarle un ligero sombreado en amarillo por encima.
La caja no está terminada, la profesora le va a escribir unas frases y perfilará ligeramente los gatos para que destaquen más.
Y hasta aquí el trabajo que hemos hecho en el curso, así que pasaré a deciros mi opinión sobre el mismo.
He de decir que me lo he pasado bien, he tenido una buena profesora y unos buenos compañeros, así que el ambiente ha sido bueno en general. También he aprendido a hacer cosas que antes no había tocado, como el tema del transfer o el de lijar con una lijadora eléctrica, así que en este aspecto, ha sido positivo y no descarto la idea de reciclar muebles de mi casa en un futuro si la situación lo requiere.
Puntos negativos, aunque no puedo decir mucho. En parte te puedes sentir como que has hecho un trabajo sin remunerar ya que los muebles se van a donar a algún centro en el que los puedan necesitar. Tampoco es algo que me haga sentir mal ya que habrá gente que les podrá dar un buen uso y tanto la silla escolar como el taburete que reciclé, me los llevaré a casa.
Lo que menos me gustó fue un tema que aunque intenté darle mi opinión a nuestra profesora, no le dio nada de importancia.
Como sabéis, una de mis aficiones es la ilustración y estoy completamente en contra del robo artístico y de utilizar imágenes y recursos si no tengo la aprobación del autor original. Y siempre que subo alguna imagen en este blog, siempre doy créditos al autor original enlazando con su página web, a no ser que no se sepa por el motivo que sea. Nuestra profesora saca de Pinterest, libros, calendarios y otras imágenes impresas todas las imágenes que hemos utilizado para hacer los transfers y decoupage, violando en cierto modo los derechos de autor. Recuerdo que en una imagen que imprimió de Pinterest había una marca de agua y se quejó porque afeaba la imagen y la única forma de hacerla más atractiva era la de poner otra imagen encima para tapar la marca de agua.
Como estos trabajos no son para vender, aunque no esté de acuerdo, lo acepté porque no tenía otra opción, pero el problema está en que en Septiembre empezará el curso con un grupo nuevo y están hablando el tema de vender los muebles que reciclen. Es decir, que si la profesora sigue sacando fotos de libros o Pinterest, que es una red social en la que los usuarios suben mayoritariamente imágenes que encuentran de otras páginas, (no tengo cuenta ni pienso hacerme una, pero he visto que muchas ilustraciones son de páginas como deviantART o pixiv), las utilizan para los transfers y decoupage y después venden dichos muebles, estarán violando los derechos de autor. Así de simple. Sé que existen páginas en las que puedes utilizar imágenes para estos trabajos en la que los autores dan permiso para su uso, así que creo que debería centrarse en ese tipo de páginas para estos trabajos.
¿Volveré al curso enSeptiembre Octubre? No. Aunque me ha gustado y me lo he pasado bien, si el rumbo que lleva es el de vender los muebles utilizando imágenes que puedan tener derechos de autor, no me interesa seguir. También tengo otros planes para Septiembre, de los que ya hablaré, que me impedirían asistir al curso y os vais a sorprender cuando os lo cuente (mis amigos más cercanos ya saben lo que es) porque no quiero adelantar acontecimientos. Solo diré que se trata de algo de mi vida personal y por lo tanto, no tiene nada que ver con mis hobbies, como son las muñecas, fotografía o ilustración.

Sé que existen páginas en las que puedes utilizar imágenes para estos trabajos en la que los autores dan permiso para su uso, así que creo que debería centrarse en ese tipo de páginas para estos trabajos.
