Metal covers: Boney M 'Rasputin'

The other day I was bored and I was watching videos on Youtube of the Finnish band Turisas because I've heard their music is good and I hadn't listened to their songs yet. What was my surprise when I discovered that they had made a cover of the song Rasputin, by band Boney M, and this gave me the idea to open an new seccion in the musical part where I will show videos of how the same song can change from an artist to another. As my specialty is the Metal scene, I will show covers of this genre, that impacts more. So I will inaugurate this new section with the song I have mentioned.

First, let's remember the original version of the song, with its Disco rhythms, the sweet female voices of Marcia Barrett, Maizie Williams and Liz Mitchell and the deep and distinctive voice of Bobby Farrell.

El otro día estaba aburrida y estuve mirando por Youtube vídeos de la banda finlandesa Turisas, ya que había oído hablar muy bien de este grupo y aún no había escuchado canciones suyas. Cuál fue mi sorpresa cuando descubrí que habían hecho un cover de la canción Rasputin, del grupo Boney M, y esto me dio la idea de abrir una nueva sección en la parte musical en la que mostraré en vídeos cómo la misma canción puede cambiar de un artista a otro. Ya que mi especialidad es la escena Metal, mostraré covers de este género, que así impactan más. Así que inauguraré esta nueva sección con la canción que he mencionado.

Primero, recordemos la canción en su versión original, con sus ritmos Disco, las dulces voces femeninas de Marcia Barrett, Maizie Williams y Liz Mitchell y la profunda y característica voz de Bobby Farrell.

Although isn't the kind of music I listen to, I admit that I like this song. It has chorus that gets into your head, lol.

And now, the cover of the Finnish band Turisas.

Aunque no es el tipo de música que escucho, reconozco que me gusta la canción. Tiene un estribillo que se mete en la cabeza, jajaja.

I think the song is great and after listening to this version, now gives me the impression that the original one lacks of rhythm, lol. The video also makes me laugh, with that mix of Disco of the 70's and a Metal show. I think is an excellent and funny cover.

Looking on Youtube I found another cover. It's by Maculish, a Croatian band.

La canción me parece bestial y después de escuchar esta versión, ahora me da la impresión de que a la original le falta más ritmo, jajaja. El vídeo también me hace mucha gracia, con esa mezcla de discoteca setentera y actuación Metal. Creo que es una versión excelente y divertida.

Rebuscando por Youtube encontré otro cover. Se trata de Macaulish, una banda croata.

As they haven't done a musical video, I will comment that the song is correct.

My favourite cover is the one by Turisas, they have managed to give it a funny, personal and very strong touch.
