International Women's Day 2020 · Día Internacional de la Mujer 2020

On March 8 was the International Women's Day. This day nothing is celebrated, we must commemorate it and continue with the struggle for equality so that the violence and inequality that women suffer will disappear someday.

This year I was thinking about whether or not to go to the protest in Barcelona due to the coronavirus issue and finally I took a risk and went.

This year, the start of the protest was in Plaza de la Universitat and I arrived at around 5.

El 8 de marzo fue Día Internacional de la Mujer. Este día no se celebra nada, hay que conmemorarlo y seguir con la lucha por la igualdad para que desaparezca la violencia y la desigualdad de la que sufrimos.

Este año estuve pensando si ir o no a la manifestación de Barcelona por el tema del coronavirus y finalmente me arriesgué y fui.

Este año, el inicio de la manifestación fue en la Plaza de la Universitat y llegué a eso de las 5.

International Women's Day 2019 - Día Internacional de la Mujer 2019 (Barcelona)

Last Friday 8th was the International Women's Day. This day nothing is celebrated, we must commemorate it and continue with the struggle for equality so that the violence and inequality that women suffer will disappear someday.

In my previous post I told you how I spent the morning in my city, El Prat de Llobregat (Barcelona), so today I tell you how I spent the afternoon at the demonstration in Barcelona.

The beginning of the demonstration was in La Gran Via de Les Corts Catalanes and Plaça Espanya, I arrived about 6 in the afternoon to Plaza Espanya. The demonstration would start half an hour later.

El pasado viernes día 8 fue Día Internacional de la Mujer. Este día no se celebra nada, hay que conmemorarlo y seguir con la lucha por la igualdad para que desaparezca la violencia y la desigualdad de la que sufrimos.

En mi anterior entrada os conté cómo pasé la mañana en mi ciudad, El Prat de Llobregat (Barcelona), así que hoy os cuento cómo pasé la tarde en la manifestación de Barcelona.

El inicio de la manifestación fue en La Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes y Plaza Espanya, llegué sobre las 6 de la tarde a Plaza Espanya. La manifestación daría comienzo media hora después.

Yesterday was International Women's Day. This day nothing is celebrated, we must commemorate it and continue with the struggle for equality so that the violence and inequality that women suffer will disappear someday.

In El Prat de Llobregat (Barcelona) there was a demonstration that ended in the Vila square, next to the town council, and a concentration. I attended the concentration because I couldn't attend the demonstration.

Ayer fue el Día Internacional de la Mujer. Este día no se celebra nada, hay que conmemorarlo y seguir con la lucha por la igualdad para que desaparezca la violencia y la desigualdad de la que sufrimos.

En El Prat de Llobregat (Barcelona) hubo una manifestación que acabó en la Plaza de la Vila, junto al ayuntamiento, y una concentración. Asistí a la concentración ya que no pude asistir a la manifestación.

Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women 2018 · Día Internacional de la Eliminación de la Violencia contra la Mujer 2018

Today, November 25, is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. During this midday a feminist act has been made in the town hall square of my city and as I haven't been able to attend the demonstration in Barcelona, I wanted to be present at this event.

Hoy 25 de noviembre es el Día Internacional de la Eliminación de la Violencia contra la Mujer. Durante este mediodía se ha hecho un acto feminista en la plaza del ayuntamiento de mi ciudad y ya que no he podido asistir a la manifestación en Barcelona, he querido estar presente en este acto.

On the 8th of March was the International Women's Day and for that day feminist demonstrations were held throughout the day. It was the first time in Spain there was a strike to demand the rights of women, so as a feminist that I am since I can remember, I couldn't miss the events that took place in my city and in the capital, Barcelona.

In my city, in the morning there was a rally in the town hall square.

El 8 de marzo fue el Día Internacional de la Mujer y para ese día se celebraron manifestaciones feministas durante todo el día. Era la primera vez que en España se hacía una huelga para reivindicar los derechos de las mujeres, así que como feminista que soy desde que tengo uso de razón, no podía perderme las movidas que hubo en mi ciudad y en la capital, Barcelona.

En mi ciudad, por la mañana hubo una concentración en la plaza del ayuntamiento.

Barcelona and Cambrils suffered an attack on the 17th August and as a consequence, on Saturday 26th a protest against terrorism was held in Barcelona. I wanted to go to the protest to give my support for the victims of terrorism and say that "no tinc por" (I am not afraid), which was the slogan of it.

First I went to Las Ramblas and light a candle in memory of the victims who were run over by a van. It was hard to see the altars in the section where the terrorist attack took place. The feeling was of sorrow for the victims and anger and impotence for what happened.

Barcelona y Cambrils sufrieron un atentado terrorista el 17 de Agosto y a consecuencia, el sábado 26 se celebró una manifestación contra el terrorismo en Barcelona. Quise ir a la manifestación para dar mi apoyo hacia las víctimas del terrorismo y decir que "no tinc por" (no tengo miedo), que fue el lema de la misma.

Primero fui a Las Ramblas y encender una vela en recuerdo de las víctimas del atropello. Fue duro ver los altares que habían en el tramo en el que se produjo el atentado terrorista. El sentimiento era de pena por las víctimas y rabia e impotencia por lo ocurrido.
