Last week we had a very strong storm, Gloria. It was quite violent in my city on the 21st, uprooting trees, causing various other damages and leaving the beach completely destroyed.
I show you photos of its passage, taken between days 22 and 23, when the storm gone.

La semana pasada tuvimos un temporal muy fuerte, Gloria. Fue bastante violento en mi ciudad el día 21, arrancando árboles, causando otros daños varios y dejando la playa completamente destrozada.
Os muestro fotos de su paso, tomadas entre los días 22 y 23, cuando el temporal ya pasó.

The Llobregat River was in warning of overflow, which finally didn't take place. As you can see, it was quite loaded with water and dirt. When the water level is normal, in the 'Parc del Riu' (Park of the River, in the last two photos) a quite wide cement platform is uncovered and of many meters in length where you can walk, ride a bicycle and where many people also take their dogs to run.
El río Llobregat estuvo en aviso de desbordamiento, cosa que finalmente no ocurrió. Como podéis ver, iba bastante cargado de agua y suciedad. Cuando el cauce es normal, en el 'Parc del Riu' (Parque del Río, en las dos últimas fotos) queda descubierta una plataforma de cemento bastante amplia y de bastantes metros de longitud por donde se puede pasear e ir en bicicleta y donde mucha gente lleva también a sus perros para que corran.
The farmers of the 'Parc Agrari' (agricultural park) have also been greatly affected by the storm, losing much of the crops. What you see in the photo is a very small part of the crop park.
Los agricultores del 'Parc Agrari' (parque agrario) también han estado fuertemente afectados por el temporal, perdiendo gran parte de los cultivos. Lo que veis en la foto es una muy pequeña parque de los cultivos.
This pine was one of the fallen in the storm. It gave me a tremendous pity since I have seen it all my life, I was over 40 years old. Instead, much smaller trees survived.

Este pino fue uno de los caídos en el temporal. Me dio una pena tremenda ya que lo he visto durante toda mi vida, tenía más de 40 años. En cambio, árboles mucho más pequeños sobrevivieron.

I don't remember seeing so many fallen trees on other occasions. I also know that there were damage to facades of several buildings.

No recuerdo haber vistos tantos árboles caídos en otras ocasiones. También sé que hubo desperfectos en fachadas de varios edificios.

The damage has been enormous, much of the sand has disappeared and according of an article I've read, the storm has taken the equivalent of 10 years of blow sand. Between the extension of the port of Barcelona and the climate change, the damage has been very big and it will take a long time to get the beach back to be as before, if ever it is again.

Los destrozos han sido enormes, gran parte de la arena ha desaparecido y según he leído en un artículo, el temporal se ha llevado el equivalente a 10 años de arena de golpe. Entre la ampliación del puerto de Barcelona y el cambio climático, los daños han sido muy grandes y va a costar conseguir que la playa vuelva a ser como antes, si es que alguna vez lo vuelve a ser.
