Today is Monday and is the turn for another round of Metal covers. On this occasion it's the turn for the Spanish Pop band Mecano.
As I know I have readers from different parts of the world globe, I will tell you that Mecano was a legendary band from the 80's in Spain and South America, they were also successful in other countries and broke up in the early 90's. Currently the group is dissolved and its components have taken different career paths. Ana Torroja, the lead singer, is the only one who has pursued a successful solo career. The song that I will introduce is "Hijo de la luna" (Son of the Moon), one of the most beautiful songs they did and I discovered more Metal covers than expected.

Como sé que tengo lectores de distintos puntos del globo terráqueo, os contaré que Mecano fue un grupo de los años 80 mítico en España y América del sur que también tuvieron éxito en otros países y que se disolvió a principios de los 90. Actualmente el grupo está disuelto y sus componentes han tomado distintos rumbos profesionales, siendo Ana Torroja, la vocalista, la única que ha seguido una exitosa carrera musical en solitario. I like the cover he has made and the effort to sing in Spanish is valued, although in many verses you can't understand what he says, lol. Sure if I would sing in Norwegian I would do it very bad, so I applaud his efforts.

Me gusta el cover que ha hecho y el esfuerzo de cantar en español se valora, aunque en muchas estrofas no se entiende lo que dice, jajaja. Seguro que si yo cantase en noruego lo haría fatal, así que aplaudo su esfuerzo.

They have brought the song to their style, being the most original cover of all. The difference is so big that is difficult to identify the song in some moments. They have also changed the lyrics of the song in the parts sung in English. I find interesting the result.

Ellos han llevado la canción a su terreno, siendo la versión más original de todas. La diferencia es tan grande, que cuesta identificar la canción en algunos momentos. También le han cambiado la letra de la canción en la partes cantadas en inglés. Me parece interesante el resultado.

Musically speaking, I like it a lot and is interesting to listen to the song in Italian.
My favourite cover? Haggard's one. Already I like this band and they always give much elegance to their songs, something that this particular song requests and they have managed to give. The cover from Stravaganzza is also very good and has the feeling that Haggard lacks.

Musicalmente hablando, me gusta mucho y es interesante escuchar la canción en italiano.
¿Mi cover favorito? El de Haggard. Ya de por sí me gusta esta banda y ellos siempre le dan mucha elegancia a sus canciones, algo que esta canción en concreto pide y ellos han sabido dar. El cover de Stravaganzza también me parece muy bueno y tiene el sentimiento que le falta a Haggard.
