Sant Jordi 2015 & Disney Store - Classic Doll "Frozen: Elsa"

On April 23rd was Sant Jordi (St. George). This day in Catalonia is similar to Valentine's day on which men give women a rose and women give men a book. As I have romanticism lost and don't have a boyfriend, I see it on the other hand, the day of the book and the festival around it in Barcelona, although is a working day.

Normally I don't go to Barcelona for Sant Jordi because of the crowd at the center of the city, but this year I wanted to go because I wanted to get a book signed by the author. The book is "Quiénes fueron realmente los vikingos" (Who the Vikings really were), by the historian Laia San José Beltrán (page in Spanish). So as I was free in the afternoon, I went to Barcelona with my mother.

As Laia Sant José would be in the stand signing books from 5 p.m. and we went to the city earlier to better leverage the afternoon, I suggested going to Disney Store because you know I've been looking for Elsa doll for a while. Finally the doll has been replenished! So I didn't hesitate and picked mine. If I wouldn't have suggested going to the store, I would have lost the chance to get it. Next you can see photos of the doll.

In my dolls blog you can see photos of the box opening of the doll, although I show you photos of the shopping bag I purchased.

With this one, I have two bags of Frozen that are very useful and beautiful. I think the illustration is very cheerful.

And now I will tell you how I spent the rest of the afternoon.

In Barcelona there are stands were you can buy books and roses and come writers, national and international, to sign their books. I would have liked to see Christian Galvez (he's also a TV presenter) and Boris Izaguirre, but there were so many people that it was impossible to get close and see them from a distance because I don't have their books and that day I only had money for Laia San José Beltrán's book.

In the following photos you can see the crowd of people who concentrate in Barcelona that day. Although it's the tourist center of the city and already there are always people on these streets, that day is almost impossible to take a step.

After purchasing Elsa, we went to Passeig de Gràcia to look for the stand where the author I wanted to meet was signing. After enduring the burden of walking amid a incessant crowd, I managed to find the stand easily and there was Laia with her books. There was nobody, so I walked over to her and said hello. She asked me if I follow her web site and I told her that this was so because I find very interesting what she writes. She dedicated and signed for me the book I wanted to buy and a photographer (her father) took a foto of us together (he told me that it will be uploaded on facebook so that we can download it) and we said goodbye to her. I think Laia is a very nice person and I left with a good impression of her.

I am currently reading the book "The Eight" by Katherine Neville (is the second time I read it), so the next book I'm going to read will be "Who the Vikings really were". I have been taking a look the book and it seems very interesting. As is also explained in an entertaining and easy to understand way, I will learn more things about this ancient civilization which I find very interesting. It also includes several pages with photographs of Clan Hávamál and Clan Gravarg and illustrations by Azahara Herrero among other photos and old illustrations. In this page you have more information about the book (it's in Spanish but you can see photos).

Also I met my friend Nadia Chaudhary, her son and her mother. Although it was for a short time, it was nice to meet them again. My friend meet Christian Galvez and she and her son took photos with him. She told me that he's a really nice guy.

To end, I want to say that I've changed my nick. I usually use the name "Diabolikal Lily" everywhere, but I've got tired of that "diabolikal" and had been thinking for a time of changing it. As I like "Lily", I wanted a "last name" that had some kind of relationship with me. I have decided to use Skaði from a test I did a while about who Norse goddess I would be, where I got as result this (winter) goddess, so from now on I will sign as Lily Skaði and in my next photos I will change my watermark although in other sites (deviantArt and forums) have to keep being Diabolikal Lily.

A curious fact, the name Skaði could mean "Goddess of hell". One way or another, there's still something diabolical in my nick, lol.

And I end this post with photos of my four dolls from the movie Frozen.

See you soon!

A ver al final qué nick has decidido utilizar, jeje.

  4. I've never been to Barcelona, I'd love to visit! I do hear that it's very busy and touristy but from your pictures the buildings look so pretty. I love the sparkles on your mouse pointer too!
