In November I took several Christmas photos in Barcelona. For those dates you can visit the Fira de Santa Llúcia, to make shit the giant Tió of the cathedral or see the original Nativity ecene in Plaça de Sant Jaume.
En noviembre hice varias fotos navideñas en Barcelona. Por esas fechas se puede visitar la Fira de Santa Llúcia, hacer cagar al Tió gigante de la catedral o ver el original Belén en la Plaça de Sant Jaume.
Fira de Santa Llúcia
This market receives thousands of visitors and there you can find all kinds of Christmas decorations. If you visit Barcelona between the end of November and December 23th, you can find it in the Plaça de la Catedral.
Este mercado recibe miles de visitantes y en él se pueden encontrar todo tipo de adornos navideños. Si visitáis Barcelona entre finales de noviembre y el 23 de diciembre, podéis encontrarlo en la Plaça de la Catedral.
All these longs with face and legs are the "caga Tió". Let's say it's the Santa Claus of Catalonia because when you hit him with a stick on Christmas Eve or at Christmas day, he shits small gifts like nuts or trinkets. Now he also defecates other types of gifts, such as small toys.
Todos estos troncos con carita y patas son el "caga Tió". Digamos que es el Papá Noel de Catalunya ya que al golpearlo con un bastón en nochebuena o en Navidad caga pequeños regalos como frutos secos o chucherías. Ahora también defeca otro tipo de regalos, como pequeños juguetes.
The "caganer" (poopy) is a popular character that is placed in the Nativity scene in the Catalan culture. It attracts so much attention that tourists stop in front of the stand where they are sold to take photos and search among hundreds of characters. You can find from politicians, to actors or musicians.
El "caganer" (cagón) es un personaje popular que se pone en el pesebre en la cultura catalana. Llama tanto la atención que los turistas se paran delante del puesto donde los venden para hacer fotos y buscar entre cientos de personajes. Puedes encontrar desde políticos, a actores o músicos.
Next to the cathedral, you can find the giant Tió, in which the children hit him with a stick to make him shit gifts.

I didn't take more photos in the market because my camera wasn't able to take clear photos with such low lighting.
From here, the photos were taken with the camera of my smartphone. Ironically, it took clearer photos than my bridge camera.

Al lado de la catedral se puede encontrar el Tió gigante, en el que los niños dan bastonazos para hacerle cagar regalos.

No hice más fotos en el mercado porque mi cámara no era capaz de sacar fotos claras con tan poca iluminación.
A partir de aquí, las fotos las hice con la cámara de mi teléfono móvil. Irónicamente sacó fotos más claras que mi cámara bridge.

The day I went to Barcelona coincided with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, so the town hall was illuminated with lilac light.

In Catalonia "l'home dels nassos' (man of noses) goes out on December 31st. In my town he was walking several streets while greeting people who came to him and he also went into the shops to say hello. When I took this photo, he had just left a nursing home.

And so we come to the last day of the Christmas holidays. On January 6th, the Three Wise Men Day, we ate at home this delicious "roscón de reyes" filled with chocolate truffle. The original one is filled with marzipan, but at home there are people who don't like it and we decided to buy one that everyone liked.

Y así llegamos al último día de las fiestas navideñas. El 6 de enero comimos en casa este delicioso roscón de reyes relleno de trufa. El original es de mazapán, pero en casa hay gente a la que no le gusta y decidimos comprar uno que gustase a todos.
Aunque el día anterior fui a la cabalgata de Reyes, no hice fotos.

At Christmas, Santa brought me a DSLR camera and a sweatshirt for the winter. The sweatshirt is warm, so I can only wear it on the coldest days, which are few. I am a heat sensitive person and I usually wear a very thin long sleeve or short sleeve under the coat.
The DSLR camera is a Nikon D3400, with the lens of kit 18-55mm (this lens is already become small for me and I need one of 18-200mm). I have finally gone ahead with the DSLR! Soon you will see photos that I have taken with it, although if you follow me on Instagram you might have seen many.
The figures of Spider-Man, Rapunzel and the box with bodies for Nendoroid arrived for the Three Wise Men day, exactly two days later. You can see the reviews of these figures in the following links:

En Navidad, Papá Noel me trajo una cámara réflex y una sudadera para el invierno. La sudadera es calentita, así que solo me la puedo poner los días más fríos, que son pocos. Soy una persona calurosa y normalmente llevo una manga larga muy finita o manga corta debajo del abrigo.
La cámara de fotos es una Nikon D3400, con el objetivo del kit 18-55mm (ya se me ha hecho pequeño este objetivo y necesito uno de 18-200). ¡Por fin he dado el salto a la réflex! Pronto podréis ver fotos que he hecho con ella, aunque si me seguís en Instagram seguro que ya habéis visto muchas.
